Back in the late 1990's and early 2000's Union Pacific kept a huge fleet of Rio Grande Tunnel Motors at Helper,Utah for helper service over Soldier Summit. The yardmaster and crews took at Helper took enormous pride in keeping them well maintained and clean. On occassion,one would wonder from the Helper Pool,One of them such as 5375 seen here at Union Pacific's Provo Yard awaits to head home for Helper. This was to be the last hurrah for Rio Grande Tunnel Motors before final oblivion. |
