This is Union Pacific's former Provo-Salt Lake City Mainline,It was downgraded to branch line status in 1985 when UP obtained trackage rights on the Rio Grande Mainline to the west. However,Union Pacific kept this portion of the Provo-Salt Lake City Mainline open as a through route in the late 1980's when Rio Grande would shut down it's own line for work windows.
